PEORIA, Ill. — A single vote separated the two Democratic candidates for the Peoria Township Supervisor seat in Tuesday’s primary election.
Vote totals as of late Tuesday night gave challenger LaTrina Leary 3,054 votes to incumbent Frank Adbnour’s 3,053.
Now both candidates will have to wait two weeks to find out who wins the race, since there is no Republican candidate on the general election ballot.
Over 300 mail-in ballots are still out that could affect the final tally.
In order to be counted, vote-by-mail ballots must have been postmarked by Tuesday, February 23, and be received by the Election Commission no later than March 9.
A recount of the Peoria Township race will be performed at the Peoria Election Commission offices Thursday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m., on March 1, March 3, March 5 and March 9.
