SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,249 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the state to 1,186,696 total cases since the start of the pandemic.
Sunday’s report included 22 additional COVID-19 related deaths. In total, 20,516 people have died from the virus statewide.
As Saturday night, there were 1,265 people hospitalized in Illinois for COVID-19. 303 were in the ICU and 150 were on ventilators.
In the 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday, Illinois conducted 66,500 tests for the virus. The seven-day rolling positivity rate 2.4%.
IDPH also reported that to date, 2,705,934 vaccine doses have been administered, with 315,416 administered at long-term care facilities. The seven-day rolling average for vaccines administered is 79,140 doses.
