PEORIA, Ill. — Another data dump led Peoria City/County Health Department’s Monday COVID-19 report to reflect 11 previously unreported virus-related deaths, some of which date back two months.
A similar situation occurred Friday, when 16 deaths were reported.
All 11 deaths reported Monday occurred in Peoria County.
They included a male in his 50s, one in his 60s, three in their 80s, and one in his 90s who did not reside in long-term care.
Additionally, a man in his 60s who lived at Sharon Willows died, as did a woman in her 70s who lived at AC Skylines, a woman in her 80s who lived at Heritage Health, a man in his 80s who lived at Generations, and a female resident of Bickford in her 90s.
Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford combined for 115 new cases over the weekend. 57 of those cases are Tazewell residents, 41 live in Peoria, and the other 17 are Woodford residents.
Area hospitalizations because of the virus were up Monday afternoon compared to Friday, an increase from 30 to 37. 10 of Monday’s virus patients in hospitals were intensive care level.
Region Two’s ICU bed availability was down Monday to 28%. It must stay at or above 20% to avoid being moved out of phase four of Restore Illinois.
Rolling seven-day positivity was down to 3.1%, and the number of virus patients in hospitals throughout the region decreased from the Friday’s report.
