PEORIA, Ill. — In a statement on their website, the St. Patrick’s Society of Peoria said, “Considering these unprecedented times, along with minimal participants registering, we weighed the many options and circumstances and feel it is best to not move forward with hosting the 2021 St. Patrick’s Day parade.”
The organization anticipates hosting Peoria’s 40th St. Patrick’s Day parade in March, 2022.
Peoria City officials have released a list of COVID-19 safety guidelines for restaurants and bars on St. Patrick’s Day:
Patrons should wear face coverings over their nose and mouth, except while eating and drinking.
Indoor and outdoor seating areas should be configured to provide a minimum of six feet between tables and other designated patron areas.
The maximum occupancy for standing areas is 25% of capacity.
Establishments should limit the occupancy of their common areas to ensure safe social distancing.
Parties are limited to maximum of ten people.
Reservations are encouraged.
Establishments should follow all applicable sanitation protocols for dishware, cups, and utensils, or use disposable single-serve items.
