PEORIA, Ill. — A 42-year-old man was taken into Peoria Police custody following a Wednesday night shooting on the city’s south side that resulted in serious injury.
The incident took place around 6:00 in the 100 block of N. Kane.
A 59-year-old man was shot in the stomach. While his injuries were serious, they were not considered to be life-threatening, according to the PPD.
During the course of the investigation, officers developed information that led to the identification of a suspect, 42-year-old Channing Biles.
Biles was found near the crime scene and cuffed without incident. He was charged after an interview with aggravated battery with a firearm, and taken to Peoria County Jail.
