PEORIA, Ill. — A combined three people from Peoria and Woodford Counties between Monday and Tuesday passed away from COVID-19.
In Woodford County, a man in his 70s and one in his 80s both succumbed to the virus. Neither of the men lived in long-term care.
Peoria County’s death was of a woman in her 40s. The Peoria City/County Health Department also reported a woman in her 80s passed away over the weekend.
Adding Tazewell County, the tri-county case count rose by 333. 202 of the new cases are Peoria residents, 107 live in Tazewell, and 24 are Woodford residents.
Area hospitalizations dropped noticeably, from 162 to 147. 44 of Tuesday’s 147 were in intensive care.
For Region Two, ICU bed availability remained at 18%. Four more patients on Tuesday were in regional hospitals compared to Monday, and rolling seven-day positivity rate dropped a tick, from 7.2% to 7.1%.
