SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Despite Johnson & Johnson vaccines’ being placed on hold, residents of Illinois continued Wednesday to get their COVID-19 shots.
The amount of vaccines administered, 129,755, almost exactly equaled the daily average of 129,317.
3,581 people throughout the state tested positive for the virus, while 40 died from it.
A total of 2,043 people with the virus as of Wednesday night were in hospital beds. 468 of those hospitalized cases were intensive care level, while 190 were on ventilators.
Laboratories collected 105,661 specimens to test.
