PEORIA, Ill. — Six residents of the Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county between Thursday and Friday passed away from COVID-19 complications.
A Peoria woman in her 50s and one in her 60s succumbed to the virus, as did a man in his 60s.
Three Woodford men died: one each in their 50s, 60s, and 70s.
A combined 189 residents of the tri-county tested positive during the reporting period. 95 are Peoria residents, 58 live in Tazewell, and 36 reside in Woodford.
There was good news and bad news in the hospitalizations area, as the overall number of local COVID patients in hospital beds decreased, from 143 to 142, but intensive care bed usage increased, from 43 to 46.
For the first time in roughly two weeks, the greater Region Two’s rolling seven-day positivity rate increased, a slight uptick from 5.1% to 5.2%.
The region’s ICU bed availability stayed at 16%. Overall COVID patients in regional hospitals stayed at Thursday’s total of 286.
