PEORIA, Ill. — A Tuesday morning shooting in Peoria’s East Bluff has landed three men in Peoria County Jail.
Peoria Police responded around 8:00 to the 1000 block of E. Republic on two ShotSpotter alerts, indicating a total of 14 rounds fired.
No victims or property damage were found, but the officers did find shell casings in the street.
Eyewitnesses told police the gunshots came from a reddish Ford Expedition.
According to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, classes at Glen Oak School did not start until 8:30, but the school was made aware of the incident.
The vehicle in question was seen Tuesday a little before 6:30 P.M. around 2400 N. Sheridan. Police found out this vehicle had been stolen.
As officers approached the vehicle while it was idle, five men inside tried to flee. Three of them were caught.
18-year-old Antonio T. Monroe Jr. was arrested for unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, obstructing justice, and Monroe also had two outstanding Peoria County Warrants on file.
20-year-old Clifford M. Ivory was taken in for unlawful possession of a weapon by felon, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and resisting a peace officer.
19-year-old Styles O. Stuckey was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, illegal possession of ammunition, and criminal trespass to vehicle.
Police were still searching Wednesday for the other two suspects.
