SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Thursday reported 85% of Illinoisans 65 years and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.
Overall, just under 100,000 doses were administered Wednesday throughout the state.
The rolling seven-day average of daily doses administered is just over 70,000.
IDPH Thursday also reported 1,778 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 40 additional deaths.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test postivity is now under 4% at 3.8%.
As of Wednesday night, 2,055 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 483 were in the ICU and 243 were on ventilators.
