GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill. — Two teenagers are facing multiple charges after stealing a vehicle that was ultimately crashed into a deputy’s squad car Saturday night.
Around 11:40 p.m., a Woodford County Deputy saw a stolen car driving in the area of Germantown Hills.
The deputy chased the stolen car to the end of a cul-de-sac after the driver refused to pull over.
Sheriff Deputy Dennis Tipsword says the suspect vehicle then turned around the cul-de-sac toward the police squad car and crashed into it head-on.
A 14-year-old female was taken into custody at the scene of the crash, while a 14-year-old male fled the scene on foot.
The teenage boy was found not far away from the scene and taken into custody.
The driver and passenger are both facing multiple charges including no valid driver’s license, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated battery to a police officer, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
The incident is still under investigation.
