SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Almost half of all Illinois adults have reached full vaccination status.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 47% of the state’s adult population as of Thursday had received the complete amount of shots. 64% had received at least one dose.
89,832 doses were administered during the most recent reporting period, well above the state’s rolling seven-day average of 65.998.
A total of 1,542 Illinoisans between Wednesday and Thursday tested positive for the virus. 42 died.
Hospitalizations statewide decreased to 1,488. 404 of those patients were in intensive care, and 226 were on ventilators.
Laboratories collectively collected 79,529 specimens.
