PEORIA, Ill. — A mere 21 residents, total, of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties tested positive between Thursday and Friday for COVID-19.
13 of the cases are Peoria residents, eight live in Tazewell, and there were no newly reported cases in Woodford.
While Woodford’s number was encouraging, two residents of the county passed away from virus complications, the deceased being a man in his 60s and a woman in her 90s.
Peoria also reported two new deaths: a man in his 60s, and another in his 80s.
Hospital bed usage increased from 42 to 49. 13 of the 49 as of Friday afternoon were intensive care-level.
Region Two’s ICU availability remained steady at 21%, while overall hospitalizations decreased by five, and rolling seven-day positivity stayed at 2.6%.
