PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics were dispatched Monday morning around 4:40 a.m. to 6831 N. Frostwood Pkwy on reports of smoke in a two-story apartment building.
Once they arrived, fire crews said smoke was coming from a second story balcony in one of the apartments.
After extinguishing the fire, a second crew searched a second, nearby apartment and found no one inside.
A fire investigator determined the fire was set accidentally.
An estimated $20,000 in damage was done as a result of the blaze, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
The incident was under control in approximately 10 minutes, at 4:52 a.m.
