SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health on Thursday reported 674 new COVID-19 cases throughout the state, to go along with 24 new deaths.
A total of 997 Illinoisans as of Wednesday night were hospitalized with the virus or with suspected cases of it. 273 of those cases were in intensive care, while 154 were using ventilators.
36,372 people between Wednesday and Thursday received a dose of the vaccine, slightly below the rolling seven-day average of 37,328. 67% of adults as of Thursday had received at least one dose, while 51% were considered to be fully vaccinated.
Labs throughout the state took in 55,432 specimens to be tested.
