PEORIA, Ill. — Five Peoria County residents passed away over the weekend from complications related to COVID-19.
The deceased include a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 40s, two men in their 60s, and a man in his 70s.
31 new cases were reported throughout Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties.
11 of the cases are Peoria residents, 18 are Tazewell, while two are Woodford residents.
Tri-county hospitalizations increased, from 37 to 44. 12 of the 44 as of Monday afternoon were intensive care-level.
The greater Region Two continued to exhibit metrics consistent with Friday’s statewide reopening. Rolling seven-day positivity rate was down to 1.3%, while ICU bed availability had risen to 25%, and overall COVID hospitalizations were down to 78.
