A man has been arrested in connection with the homicide.
54-year-old Robert Ely was nabbed Wednesday in St. Louis on a first-degree murder charge.
Ely’s bond was set at $5 million.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the victim as a longtime area doctor.
Harwood said 92-year-old William Marshall sustained multiple stab wound to the front and back of his body.
Harwood declined to give more details because of an ongoing police investigation.
His bio on the University of Illinois at Chicago website reads as follows:
Following his time in the Navy, Dr. Marshall spent time training in general surgery with Dr. Warren H. Cole and as his research assistant and an instructor in surgery. He then went to the University of Louisville as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. He returned to Peoria in 1964 to join the Peoria Surgical Group. In the early 1970s he was asked to work on the development and organization of the surgery department for the new Peoria School of Medicine. He was the first chair of the Department of Surgery and led the department from 1972 to 1982.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police rushed Wednesday morning to the city’s north side and found what appeared to be the city’s first homicide of the year.
Officers responded around 9:30 to the 500 block of E. High Point Pl. on reports of a male down inside a home.
The found a man with obvious trauma to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office was also on scene, and is scheduled to release victim information when an autopsy is done.
No suspects were immediately named.
