UPDATE (5:15 a.m. Tuesday) — Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has released the name of the woman who died in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning in Peoria.
Harwood said 22-year-old Ashley Gase, of Peoria, was in a passenger in the back seat of the car that collided with a truck near the intersection of SW Washington and Edmund Street.
Gase was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:09 a.m. The autopsy showed that she suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries, and died instantly.
Toxicology results are still pending.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Peoria Police.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police were called just before 4:30 a.m. Monday to the 1800 block of SW Washington Street regarding a two-vehicle accident.
“Three individuals were transported via ambulance to a local hospital, two with serious injuries and one with minor injuries. A fourth person, an adult female, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Sgt. Amy Dotson with Peoria Police.
Further information regarding the identity of the deceased woman will be released by the Peoria County coroner at the conclusion of the autopsy.
An investigation is ongoing by the PPD’s Traffic Unit.
