UPDATE 1:30 P.M. — According to Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Tom Sander, the fire Thursday at the apartment building was put out in approximately 25 minutes from alarm time.
Sander said attack lines were stretched to the third floor interior of the structure, and the fire had extended to the attic.
There were no injuries reported in Thursday’s fire, and an estimated additional $20,000 in damage was done as a result.
One fire engine stayed on the scene to monitor the building.
There was no immediate word on whether or not Thursday’s fire was related to Wednesday’s.

UPDATE — Peoria Fire crews were back on scene at the same location Thursday morning around 11:00 a.m.
The scene was described as a “working fire” Thursday after crews responded to an electrical fire at the apartments Wednesday.
The scene was cleared just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Firefighters were called to Merle Lane around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for an apartment fire.
Crews weren’t sure if a lightning strike was to blame for the blaze near University Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a line connecting the apartment building to a power pole had caught fire and spread to the second and third floors of the structure.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
No injuries were reported.
