PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police confirm a 17-year old male was shot in the 300 block of E. Republic Street Tuesday night.
The teen’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The PPD said he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers were called just after 6 p.m. to the scene after a ShotSpotter alert indicated six rounds were fired.
News partner 25 News said police recovered bullet casings near the coroner of E. Republic and N. Peoria Avenue, and there was damage to a home from gunfire.
A witness heard gunshots, and a car speeding off.
Around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 2400 block of Garden Street for another shooting, according to police dispatch.
PPD said there was one victim, but their condition was unknown.
Suspect information in both incidents is still developing.
