PEORIA, Ill. — Parents and students had a chance Friday night to share their concerns and solutions after violent fights at Peoria High School last week.
The Peoria Public Schools town hall meeting gave the community an opportunity to talk directly with the district leaders.
PPS Board President, Gregory Wilson, said they wanted input from the people who see these issues everyday.
Multiple parents and teachers told news partner 25 News that there should be an alternative school in District 150.
“We need a place, not every kid can be in a room with 20 plus 9 other kids. We need that. We had it at Woodruff and then it got dissolved and now it’s completely dissolved. We don’t even have a safe school,” said PPS parent and teacher, Kim Thomas.
Wilson said the board will look into the ideas presented, and if they work, they will try to implement them.
