PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have arrested another man for the shooting death of Manual High School student Jerry Snipes Jr., who was the city’s 24th homicide victim this year.
In addition to 18-year-old Jeremy Moore, police said on Thursday, they arrested Gary A. Irby III, 19, who was jailed for a weapons charge.
Irby also faces first-degree murder charges, according to Peoria Police.
Moore was arrested on Wednesday, after being found in possession of a loaded firearm that had been stolen.
Moore was subsequently arrested for First Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of Jerry Snipes Jr. on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in the area of Linn Street and Corrington Avenue.
Moore was also arrested on September 28, following a chase with police after shots were fired as a crowd gathered at Peoria’s Logan Park to commemorate the one year anniversary of a street racing crash that killed four young women.
