Peoria, Ill — We’re told sign-ups for this winter’s Salvation Army Christmas Food & Toy Basket giveaways, “have been slow”.
That’s according to an email from local Salvation Army leaders in Peoria.
In light of this, needy parents are being encouraged to submit their name and address this week in order to get on the food and toy distribution list.
You can go in Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Family Service Center on NE Adams Street in Peoria.
Also on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location.
You’ll need to bring a current photo I.D. and something with your current address listed on it.
Also, if you’re signing up to receive toys for children, you’ll need to verify the child’s date of birth.
And if you can’t come in to sign up, you’re urged to write a letter stating your need for food.
In the letter, you’re asked to include your name and address (with apartment number), a phone number where you can be reached and a total number of household occupants.
