MOLINE, Ill. – There are now four Democrats officially running to replace outgoing 17th District Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.
Former television meteorologist Eric Sorensen is one of those. He previously forecast the weather at television stations in the Quad Cities and Rockford, both in the district.
Sorensen says he feels by telling the truth and explaining the weather as he did, he has earned the trust of the public.
State Representative Litesa Wallace of Rockford is the other candidate. She says as a single parent, she’s had the challenge of finding affordable childcare, and that helping working families is something she’ll keep doing in Washington if elected.
Rockford Aldermen Jonathan Logemann and Rock Island County Board member Angie Normoyle have also formally announced runs in the Democratic primary.
Republican and attorney Esther Joy King is also running again.
