PEORIA, Ill. — Fire crews were called just after 12 a.m. Tuesday to the 2100 block of N. Linn Street in Peoria.
Firefighters found flames coming from a window on the second floor of the four story apartment complex.
Two people were rescued from the third floor of the building. Both were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not available.
28 residents were temporarily displaced during the fire. About half were allowed back in their apartments, the other half received assistance from the Red Cross.
Firefighters remained on the scene for roughly two and a half hours.
A fire investigator said arson was the cause of the fire.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
