PEORIA, Ill. – A former Peoria resident is going to federal prison for more than seven years after pleading guilty in September to Possession of Child Pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a judge gave Benjamin Wilson, 42, 90 months in prison for the charge. He could have received as much as 20 years.
Authorities say the offenses for which Wilson was arrested occurred in November of 2019, and were brought as part of the federal “Project Safe Childhood” initiative.
Prosecutors say a judge noted what were referred to as “the significant and long-lasting impact” to the victims which Wilson possessed videos of.
