FARMINGTON, Ill. — Two businesses are a total loss after a Monday night fire tore through the structure in Farmington.
A Fulton County official told news partner 25 News the fire started in the bar area of Whiskey Dixie on the corner of Rt. 116 and N. Cone Street.
There were no injuries reported as of 10:45 p.m. Monday, and no one was displaced by the fire.
25 News reports the next-door Parkside Restaurant was also destroyed, and residents say Whiskey Dixie just got new owners who were planning a grand opening for Wednesday.
Several fire departments were called into help from Fulton, Peoria and Knox Counties. Tanker operations were needed to assist in fighting the fire.
Ameren Illinois was on-scene and power was shut off for at least two blocks surrounding the businesses.
