PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. — A Glasford man is dead following a crash southwest of Hanna City Monday night.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to Eden and Smithville Roads just after 8:30 for a single-vehicle accident.
The driver — identified by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood as Daniel DeFrance, 58 — was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was LifeFlighted to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries and is reportedly in stable condition.
Harwood says DeFrance suffered severe head and chest trauma, and likely died instantly. He says it’s not clear of DeFrance was wearing a seatbelt, and toxicology tests are pending.
The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver’s identity will be released by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office following an autopsy and notification of family.
The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
