FARMINGTON, Ill. — Firefighters were called to Ashers Bar and Grille on Fort street in downtown Farmington Thursday night.
Around 9:20 p.m., crews found heavy fire in the kitchen, which spread to the second floor above it.
“Some of the adjacent buildings had some water damage, but no fire damage,” said Farmington Fire Chief Matt Watters.
This is the second bar fire in downtown Farmington this week.
Whiskey Dixies and the Parkside Restaurant were both destroyed by fire Monday night.
Watters said no foul play was involved, and there appears to be no connection between Thursday night and Monday night’s fires.
Mutual aid was called in from multiple agencies.
The business was closed at the time of the fire.
One firefighter sustained a minor ankle injury and was transported by ambulance to Graham Hospital. He has been released.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
