FARMINGTON, Ill. – Two men have been hospitalized after a stabbing and shooting in rural Farmington early Saturday morning.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department says deputies found one male with gunshot wounds and another with stab wounds shortly after 2 a.m. at a home in the area of Rt. 78, just south of Farmington.
Both men were transported by Life Flight to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Fulton County Sheriff Jeff Standard said an investigation is at a bit of a standstill.
“We’ve not been able to conclude any interviews because the two individuals are still in serious condition at the hospital. So, we’re not releasing any names,” Standard said.
“We’re just waiting on the health of these individuals to either improve or deteriorate,” Standard added.
Five agencies assisted the Sheriff’s Department including Illinois State Police and officers from both the Farmington and Canton Police Departments.
An investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
