UPDATED 6:11 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – Four people were arrested today (Monday) as Peoria Police and federal authorities continue to investigate a series of carjackings, business burglaries, and other arrests.
It started following a shots fired call in the area of Starr and Arago. A Peoria County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that had an occupant seen leaning out of a vehicle with a gun, but fled.
That vehicle — later reported stolen — eventually crashed, and three people were seen running away from it.
Two juveniles were found and arrested, one of them allegedly carrying a handgun. They face several charges.
While investigating, another juvenile was discovered on West Marquette and found to be wanted on a parole violation. His vehicle allegedly had two loaded guns in it.
He faces a host of burglary, vehicle possession, robbery, and other charges, including possession of a weapon by a gang member.
Another person in that vehicle — 29-year-old Antonio Cousins — was arrested on weapons charges, including related to the original shots fired call.
Peoria Police, Illinois State Police, U.S. Marshals, and ATF agents all worked together on the investigations.
