PEORIA, Ill. – A longtime Peoria business and self-described “largest camera shop in downstate Illinois” is closing after about 85 years in business.
Peoria Camera Shop, in the Metro Centre, says its last day in business will be February 25th, and that a sale of all inventory will begin soon.
The store says its owner, Bill Dobbins, died in December at the age of 61, and the decision to close came after much thought and consideration.
His obituary says the Morton resident was a friend to many and “never met a stranger.” Dobbins’ death was described as unexpected.
