UPDATE 7:34 a.m. 2/2/22: CityLink says service for the rest of the day Wednesday will be suspended.
“Due to inclement weather, CityLink fixed route bus service and CountyLink rural transportation service are suspended for the remainder of the day on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. CityLift paratransit service is continuing to run on a limited basis,” according to a statement from the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District.

“We hope to keep service going,” said Doug Roelfs, CityLink General Manager. “I think the last time we suspended service, or didn’t have service, was 2011, they tell me. So, it doesn’t happen very often.”
Roelfs says there may be some disruptions in service, but likely not a complete cancellation.
“We’ll have a lot more supervisors out, checking routes,” said Roelfs. “There may be some routes we’ll have to pull buses off of for hilly conditions, and if it gets too slick in areas.”
Roelfs says he tends to take a “wait and see” approach to every storm, and stays in contact with local officials in every city the transit system serves.
Meantime, Roelfs says the system has plenty of veteran drivers that know how to deal with some of the worst Mother Nature has to offer.
