PEORIA, Ill. – Illinois State Police say they have arrested a man who’s been wanted for most of the week after being involved in a shooting that also involved a Peoria Police officer.
State troopers say Peoria officers spotted Carlos Jones, 43, leaving a house Thursday afternoon, and arrested him after a traffic stop and a brief foot chase.
Jones was wanted on a charge of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm after the January 31 shooting near McClure and Atlantic. Jones and Peoria officers allegedly exchanged gunfire. That led State Police to take over the investigation.
Jones is now in the Peoria County Jail pending court appearances.
