PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria Civic Center is celebrating 40 years of entertainment in the River City.
A special event was held Thursday, looking back on the concerts, sporting events and shows that have rolled through Jefferson Avenue over the years.
Guest speakers included Peoria Mayor Rita Ali, and commemorative tote bags were given out to remember the big four-oh.
“We are the good things in the community – we bring people together,” Civic Center general manager Rick Edgar told news partner 25 News.
“We have special moments. So, tonight, we are celebrating that and looking forward to new moments and new adventures we’ll be able to take over the next 40 years,” Edgar said.
A busy schedule at the Civic Center this year includes Rivermen hockey and Bradley basketball, as well as concerts, monster truck shows, and more.
