PEORIA, Ill. — Fights broke out Wednesday night after a high school basketball playoff game in Peoria.
Officers from at least three police department responded to Bradley University’s Renaissance Coliseum around 8:45 p.m. following Manual High School’s overtime loss to Rock Island in the Class 3A sectional semifinals.
Public Information Officer Semone Roth, with Peoria Police, said the fights were between Manual students outside the venue, and no one from the other team was involved.
PPD took two juveniles into custody, who were later released.
Officers did use pepper spray to clear the crowd.
