UPDATE: (10:12 a.m. 3/7/22)
PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called back to 719 W. Nowland Avenue Monday morning, where fire initially broke out Saturday afternoon.
Crews returned to the scene a little after 6 a.m. Monday.
Fire Battalion Chief Steve Rada said holes on the first floor were compromised. Power and gas were shut off to prevent further hazard.
Due to the volume of the fire and extension into the first and second floor, crews evacuated the structure.
Engine and Ladder Truck crews kept the fire from spreading to nearby homes by using several thousand gallons of water to fully extinguish the flames.
The home was a total loss and was scheduled for demolition.
No injuries were reported.
