PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death of his child.
According to court records, Zachary Yeo pleaded guilty to a single count of first degree murder on Thursday.
The other counts against him, including aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and another count of first degree murder were dropped.
Connor Yeo was taken to a hospital on November 12, 2021, after a call of a two-month-old not breathing.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Yeo was resuscitated, and aggressively treated for several days, but was unable to recover from his injuries.
He was pronounced dead on November 23.
An autopsy showed Connor Yeo suffered severe blunt force head trauma at the hands of another person.
Court records showed Yeo must serve 100% of his sentence.
