PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is facing both theft and weapons charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle.
Peoria Police say they used a license plate reader to help discover the stolen vehicle on Romeo B. Garrett Avenue Tuesday night.
While investigating, officers say they saw Anthony Morris, 21, return to the vehicle and sit inside, and that’s when he was taken in to custody.
Officers say they found a gun reported stolen inside the car, along with other allegedly stolen items.
Morris faces charges of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and other counts.
He’s jailed pending court dates.
