PEORIA, Ill. — A south side Peoria home is left badly damaged following a fire late Saturday night, but thankfully no one was hurt in the blaze.
Peoria firefighters say they were called out to a property along West Garden Street off Westmorland and Madison Park Terrace a little before 10:15 p.m.
Crews spotted heavy smoke coming from the front door and eaves of the home, which was reportedly vacant at the time of the fire.
Firefighters advanced a hose line in through the front door and brought the blaze under control.
A fire investigator is still looking into what caused the blaze.
There was roughly $15,000 in damage to the home, but no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
