PEORIA, Ill. — A man with four warrants out for his arrest in two Illinois counties was taken into custody by Peoria Police over the weekend.
On Saturday, PPD’s Special Investigations Division conducted surveillance leading to the whereabouts of a wanted individual, Joshua Alexander-Perry.
Alexander-Perry, 25, was wanted in connection with alleged possession of a firearm and making threats to a victim earlier in the day in Peoria.
Around 8:40 p.m., PPD initiated a traffic stop on W. American Prairie Drive on a vehicle Alexander-Perry was a passenger in. He tried to get away on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
A Glock 27 handgun was recovered from the passenger side of the vehicle, loaded with 18 total rounds and found to be stolen out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Three of Alexander-Perry’s warrants were from Peoria County, totaling $22,000, and one was a no bond warrant for Armed Violence out of DuPage County.
Alexander-Perry also had two local 49’s for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Domestic Battery.
Along with the warrants, Alexander-Perry was taken to the Peoria County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Domestic Battery, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
