PEORIA, Ill. – Two teenagers are in trouble with the law after gunshots were fired late Thursday afternoon in South Peoria.
Peoria Police say it happened at approximately 4:16 p.m. on Smith Street near DuSable. Officers say they saw two males running away from the area following a ShotSpotter alert of seven rounds being fired.
A male juvenile was quickly caught, while Evan Nettles, 18, was arrested after running into a home on West Martin. Two guns were allegedly found in his clothing.
Both face charges of Aggravated Unlawful use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm, Resisting an Officer, and Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid FOID Card.
Nettles also faces a charge of Possession of Cannabis.
The two are in custody.
