MAQUON, Ill. – Authorities in Knox County say they’ve arrested a woman for charges both related to, and not related to, a decomposing body found in a storage locker Friday evening.
Sheriffs detectives say Marcy Oglesby, 50, Maquon, was arrested Tuesday on a Class-Four felony charge of Concealment of Death.
She’s jailed on $10,000 bond on that case. But she’s also facing two unrelated Fulton County warrants charging her with Fraud and Deceptive Practices.
Sheriffs deputies were called to a storage facility Friday evening in the rural Knox County community of Maquon, originally for a suspicious odor.
A person said to own the locker reportedly told investigators a dead opossum lead to the smell, but when a box inside the locker was opened, human remains were found.
The identity of the body has not been revealed, and an investigation continues.
