EUREKA, Ill. – A Roanoke woman has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in connection to allegations she had an inappropriate relationship with a student while she worked as a teachers aide.
25 News reports Trisha Phillippe, 40, pleaded guilty in a Woodford County Courtroom Wednesday to a charge of Criminal Sexual Abuse, and has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.
She had been charged back in April with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Distributing Explicit Material to a Minor.
Phillippe allegedly kissed a 14-year-old Roanoke-Benson student on several occasions, and also traded explicit text messages and photos with the boy.
She must serve at least half her jail sentence before she can be released, and reportedly had been receiving mental health treatment before now.
