PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – A Peoria man who’s jail record lists him as homeless is accused of trying to carjack a vehicle Tuesday night.
Peoria Heights Police arrested Cameron Camper, 21, just before 10 p.m.
About two hours earlier, police say they were called to East War Memorial Drive on a report of a vehicle theft with the suspect being armed.
Police say they took information about the vehicle, which led to Camper’s arrest. No other information was released.
He faces charges of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking, Aggravated Assault, Child Endangerment, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Obstructing Justice, and Resisting Arrest.
Camper is jailed pending court appearances.
