PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is jailed on charges he stole money from a local business a week ago, among other things.
The Peoria County Sheriffs Department says Gregory Belville, 32, was arrested Tuesday, originally on a count of Burglary to a Business.
The break-in allegedly occurred September 1 during the early morning hours, at Shelton’s Bar in West Peoria. Belville allegedly broke in to video gaming machines and took an undisclosed amount of money.
During his arrest, however, deputies say they found two guns — one of which was a stolen sawed off shotgun — and learned he had also swallowed methamphetamine, for which he was treated and released from the hospital.
Belville now also is jailed on charges of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and was wanted on two Peoria County warrants, and one from the Department of Corrections.
