FULTON COUNTY, Ill. – A Creve Coeur man got several tickets after an accident Thursday morning in Fulton County.
Illinois State Police says the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on U.S. 136 near Fulton County Highway 13.
They say Douglas Deatrick, 39, was westbound in a tractor-trailer on 136 when it went off the north side of the road, over-corrected, ended up going across both lanes, and ended up in a ditch on the south side of the road.
Deatrick and a passenger — George Johnson, 31, of Bloomington — were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both were given tickets for not wearing a seat belt.
Deatrick was also cited for Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
