PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria teenager arrested last month for a shooting in April that critically injured a woman is now being indicted by a grand jury.
A grand jury Tuesday filed two counts of Aggravated Battery — both Class X felonies — against Jahmahn Williams, 19.
Williams allegedly opened fire in mid-April at the Hedgehill Apartments complex in Northwest Peoria.
A second person arrested — 19-year-old Jontarique White — pleaded guilty in October and is serving a 17-year prison sentence, according to court records.
A grand jury Tuesday also indicted Williams on a count of Burglary, for allegedly breaking into a car on West Clarewood in August, 2021.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned December 15th, and is jailed.
