PEORIA, Ill. — Another gun buy-back event in Peoria started and ended fast, with nearly another 90 firearms collected by local police.
Peoria Police say people were already lined up by the time the buy-back started on Saturday.
According to 25 News, it was all over within an hour.
Peoria Police had given out $17,000 in gift cards and 89 guns had been collected, no questions asked.
Functional handguns, rifles, shotguns, ghost guns and functional assault-type rifles were all collected at the event. It’s the second buyback event within the last month, and the second time money ran out very quickly.
Police will now sort and test the weapons to see if they were involved in any crimes.
PPD has not confirmed if there will be another gun buyback event in the near future.
