UPDATE: In March, 2023, according to Knox County Court online records, Sullivan’s case was listed as “Nolle Prosequi” — meaning, it “is akin to the dismissal of charges, reverting the matter to the same condition that existed before the commencement of the prosecution,” according to the Illinois Appellate Prosecutors’ Office. In other words, while information below was accurate at the time, and directly attributable to the Knox County Sheriff, the case was later dismissed.

GALESBURG, Ill. – A Galesburg man is in trouble with the law in Knox County after he allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the Knox County Courthouse.
Knox County Sheriff Jack Harlan says Matthew Sullivan, 30, is now in jail on a felony charge of Disorderly Conduct.
Harlan says deputies learned Wednesday that Sullivan called the courthouse’s Traffic Division about ongoing cases, and that’s when he allegedly made the threat.
Harlan ordered the courthouse to be placed on lockdown until the situation was under control.
No word on when Sullivan will make a first court appearance.
